NFL Draft: Bucs get Winfield & Vaughn on Day 2
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added to two positions of need as they selected Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (2nd Round, #45 overall) and RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn (3rd Round, #76).
Winfield played college football at Minnesota and measures out at 5′ 9”, 205lbs. He was unanimously voted First Team All-American in 2019, as well as First Team All-Big 10 and Big 10 Defensive Back of the Year.
If the name sounds familiar, Winfield’s father was a former 1st Rounder and Pro Bowl CB for the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings over 13 seasons.
Winfield has been scouted as a quick, smart defensive back who has excellent tackling technique.
Vaughn stands at 5′ 10”, 210 lbs and played his college ball at Vanderbilt and Illinois. Over his career in college he put up eight touchdowns of 60+ yards and ran for over 1,000 yards twice.
Tampa is in need of an impact player at RB, and Vaughn has shown glimpses that he can be a threat in the passing game out of the backfield as well.
