Every time a player takes the field for Tampa Bay Sun FC in a competitive match, another dream becomes reality and another new chapter begins. For every player to ever take the field; a new Sun Legacy Number is created along with their name.

What are the requirements to earn a Legacy Number? To earn a Legacy Number you must have participated in an official league competitive game. Exhibitions & Friendlies do not count.

It all began from first competitive game where the starting eleven were assigned number from 1 to 11 in an alphabetical order. Since then, the list has gradually expanded building a history that will link each player together through the years and decades.

The newest was on August 15th, 2026 when midfielder Tori Zierenberg made her first appearance against Dallas Trinity in the Super League, becoming Sun Legacy Number 61.

We know that every player counts in our history. Whether they’ve been on the pitch once or over a hundred times, every player has brought with them the crest and pride of Tampa Bay. This is what we want to show with these numbers.

Legacy Numbers are assigned with care:

Starting XI appearances: all players listed alphabetically.

Substitute debuts: Chronologically listed according to the minute they first appeared on the field

For supporters, the Sun Legacy Numbers are a history of our story. Each number is a chapter, each chapter contains memories, and altogether they recall that when a person wears the Sun crest, they’re forever a member of the Tampa Bay soccer community.
